About the Craftsman
Merritt Harris grew up on a ranch near Wyola, Montana. He moved to Arizona in high school. He married his wife, Shelley, in Arizona. They moved to Hardin in 1991. Merrit has been a guide for The Bighorn Trout Shop in Ft. Smith, Montana for nearly 30 years. In the winter months he keeps busy building guide nets and landing nets made with beautiful woods, and amazing craftsmanship. Last year he tried his hand at wood carvings. His love for the outdoors is evident in his carvings of native birds and fish.
